Limno Freshwater Tools - Limno, Italy
Limno is a project involved in the research of connections between freshwater and culture. Anything connected with freshwater, as urban and countryside landscape, rivers, lakes, gardens, human beings and animals are topics of a research that Limno carries on through videos, dialogues and other projects. Limno was first introduced at Spazio Paraggi (Treviso) and Fondazione Claudio Buziol (Venice) in July 2010, then was developed within the 6th edition of Lago Film Fest, where we presented a selection of documentaries and short films related to freshwater.
Limno is a project, not connected with a specific site, but from time to time trying to draw the attention to different contexts.
Last summer we explored lakes of Ravine (couple of small lakes in Northern Italy, that are already a site of Community Importance, and which are going to become a Natural Park), through a workshop, open to 7 university students which attended a series of meetings with biologists, landscape architects, philosophers, video makers, film directors, underwater archaeologists and naturalists.
The aim of the workshop was the focus on the perception of the lakes by the community of locals, using video, photos, and performances to try to get them to see lakes in different way.
